To ease the pain of slow connection speeds, Google created a new feature in Gmail Labs called Inbox Preview. While Gmail is loading, a simple, static preview of your inbox with your ten most recent messages is displayed. Turn it on from the Labs tab under Settings, and if you’re on a slow connection you’ll know from the start if it’s worth the wait.
If you’re a Mac Office user, Google Docs now supports .Docx and .Xlsx formats which is in addition to .doc, .odt, xls, .ods, .ppt, .csv, .html, .txt, .rtf, and others. While it may seem like a simple addition it saves time and reduces versioning issues.
A new “Monetize” tab was added to Google Sites in the settings area. If you’re interested in making money with your Google Sites this is a great little addition. Turn it on and place it in the page or sidebar to drive AdSense adverts right into your site. The adverts shown are even optimized based on your sites content, so you don’t have to worry about unrelated adverts on your site.
